Comparison of the performance of popular game engines.
The aim of this work was to help in choosing a game engine for both development studios (especially smaller ones) and individuals who want to start creating games by comparing performance, graphics quality, and the ease of use and learning of a given tool.
- Become familiar with the following game engines and performance measurement tools:
- Unreal Engine 4,
- Unity,
- Godot,
- Flax,
- HWiNFO,
- Nvidia FrameView.
- Collection of materials and literature on the mentioned tools.
- Create a performance test on one of your engines, and then replicate it faithfully on the other engines.
- Conducting quantitative research consisting in measuring the performance in selected engines using the test created.
- Performing qualitative research by conducting an appropriate number of questionnaires.
- Drawing conclusions based on the collected and analyzed data.
